Alex Iafallo had a goal and an assist in the third period and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Penguins 3-2 Monday night in Pittsburgh.
Adam Lowry and Cole Perfetti also scored third-period goals for Winnipeg. Clay Stevenson, claimed off waivers from the Washington Capitals on Sept. 28, made 29 saves in his Jets debut.
Ben Kindel and Declan Carlile each had a goal and an assist for the Penguins, and Sergei Murashov made 30 saves.
The Penguins led 1-0 after two periods, but Iafallo tied it at 4:43 of the third when he tucked in a loose puck at the right post.
Lowry gave the Jets a 2-1 lead at 7:08. After Pittsburgh was unable to clear the zone, Murashov made a save against Iafallo, but Lowry knocked in the rebound.
Carlile tied it at 8:53. Ville Koivunen forced a turnover in the Winnipeg zone and fed Kindel, who passed to Carlile going to the net and he beat Stevenson with a wrist shot from the slot.
Winnipeg regained the lead nine seconds later. Pittsburgh turned the puck over in the neutral zone, Josh Morrissey entered the zone and passed across to Perfetti, who scored on a one-timer from the top of the right circle at 9:02 to make it 3-2.
The Penguins had scored 13 goals in winning their first two games, but Winnipeg outshot Pittsburgh 13-11 in a scoreless first period.
Murashov robbed Perfetti with a glove save 64 seconds into the second. Midway through the period, he made a blocker save to thwart Kyle Connor on a 2-on-1 rush.
Kindel gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead at 9:27 of the second when he went to the front of the net and tipped Carlile’s shot out of the air and past Stevenson. The goal was initially waved off due to a high stick, but after a review, the call was overturned.
The Jets hit four posts over the first two periods.
